Title: Family of Isolated Converters with Cells R²P² and Voltage Multiplier for PV Micro Generators

Abstract

This paper proposes the development of a new family of isolated DC-DC converter with high voltage gain for applications in photovoltaic systems. The
converter family is developed from the association of the reduced redundant power processing (R²P²) and voltage multiplier (VM) cells with the isolated converters Cuk, SEPIC, Zeta and Flyback, resulting in 12 new converters.
With the insertion of these circuits, a high voltage gain is obtained, with low voltage stresses in the semiconductor components. The perturb and observe algorithm (P&O) is used for the maximum power point tracking (MPPT)
of the PV module (PV). To illustrate the characteristics of the converter family, the Cuk R²P² converter with voltage multiplier was chosen for analysis. The principle of operation, static gain, modelling and control were
evaluated theoretically. Experimental results validate the theoretical analysis and demonstrate that the Cuk R²P² converter with voltage multiplier is an excellent alternative to obtain high voltage gain combined with
galvanic isolation without the need of having a high turns ratio in the transformer.
